John Bettis is a songwriter extraordinaire. He has written songs for Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Madonna, Diana Ross, and Whitney Houston, and has also composed the theme songs for hit TV shows, such as Growing Pains.
Bettis has been nominated for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, 3 Grammies and has received two Emmys throughout his career, one in 1988 for One Moment in Time, the theme for that year’s Olympics, and the other in 2003 for Where There is Hope.John has served as Chairman of the Board of the National Academy of Songwriters, and is a member of The Board of Directors of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP); the Board of Review of ASCAP; the Board of Directors of the Nashville Songwriters Association International; and of the Board of Directors of the Nashville Ballet.
